Review: MAC Studio Finish Concealer

For those of you who read my review on the Bobbi Brown Concealer, you'll know how much I'm struggling to find a concealer that covers my dark circles without creasing.. So I read so many reviews on the MAC Studio Finish Concealer and thought I'd go to a MAC store and just try it out..
Formula: It's not as creamy as the Bobbi Brown concealer.. You need to warm this product or swirl your brush on it a few times before your get the right amount of product on your finger/brush.. But I don't mind that at all..

My Experience: I got this in NW30 and I use this with Sephora Profesionnel Crease Brush #10 (similar to MAC 224 but better in my opinion coz it's fluffier).. It works soooo well on my acne scars.. Hides them really well without much effort.. Blends nicely with my skintone.. It gives me a gorgeous satin finish that no other concealer has done before..

Now for my under eye circles, this was so nice at first.. But a few minutes later, the creases decided to show themselves.. It really disappointed me in that sense coz the finish was lovely and the colour was perfect for my under eye (I don't like my under eye area to be lighter than my skin colour)..

I used a powder with this and it still creased a tiny bit.. Ima continue using it coz I'm liking it much better than the Bobbi Brown one but I'll still hunt for that perfect under eye concealer.. I'm starting to think that maybe my eye cream could be too rich??? I dunno coz I did try it without an eye cream and I still saw them nasty creases creeping out.. I'll make it work somehow..

Do you have this problem with MAC Studio Finish Concealer?

Maybe try with a primer under your under eye concealer. Also, I try not to use a rich eye cream during the day. Hope that helps! ♥

what a shame about the creasing! I also have issues with my concealors creasing on me and haven't yet found one that doesnt.

I find that it works best for the under eye area if used with a gel based eye cream, like Mario Badescu's Ceramide Eye Gel, or something with a bit of a slip, like Clinique All About Eyes. I use a tiny bit of cream, dab it in, let it sink, and then blend a thin layer of MAC Studio Finish over it. It only creases a tiny bit on me, it's barely noticeable. Hope that helps! x

I used to use this a while ago, and I thought it was good, but it did crease a lot and look dry on me. But I've heard so many good things about it, I kinda want to go and try it again..

@maya - I never really thot of using an eye primer under my eye.. I might just try that.. Thanks heaps for your input =)

@Jen W - If you do find one that works for ya.. do lemme know ;)

@Rocaille - Hmmm I don't really have a gel based eye cream.. Today I'm not wearing an eye cream and although it's a bit better it still creased a lil.. It's annoying but I can work with it.. Thanks heaps for the tip hun =)

@Vida - Thank god it doesn't look dry on me.. It's just the creasing that's an issue.. It is a lovely concealer for sure though

Same thing happen to me if I use this under my eyes. For the dark circles I use the Giorgio Armani Corrector Master Corrector #1-I did a review on my blog. Then I just use my foundation on top and that pretty much takes care of it, at least for me.

I also like Chanel´s Mat Lumiere, and I love it for nights out and when I need great staying power and coverage.. but I'm on the look for something more medium/light coverage and not Chanel hehe I have the Vita Lumiere and Pro Lumiere but I need something slightly cheaper ^^ I hate that we don't have Revlon in sweden!!!!

It is quite a dry, creasey concealer, but the coverage is great! I think it just takes a lot of maintenance. I've heard that theBalm's timeBalm is a good concealer!

I don't know which skin type you have, but maybe MAC Pro Longwear concealer could be a better choice for you...? I used to wear MAC Select Cover up, but I find it to be a bit too creamy which quickly ends up in my fine lines and creases.

The Pro Longwear is a much thinner formula wich eliminates that problem. I have really dry skin so I have to be careful not to use too much of this concealer because that will dry up in my lines. But this concealer has really good coverage and that means you don't have to use much of it. And it lasts almost all day which is great!

I'm trying to find something to cover up my dark circles too! So far the best thing that I have used is the concealer duo by Laura Mercier and you can blend the two colors which makes it nice in regard to keeping your undereyes the same as your face.
