I'm always on the lookout for something to help hide pores as I know nothing out there can actually make them completely disappear.. So I decided to give Clarins a go and see what they have to offer my pores...
- Mousse-like thick formula which can feel a bit heavy if too much is applied
- Blurs pores beautifully
- Helps foundation from not creasing around the mouth and eye areas
- Long-lasting
- A little goes a long way
Application
- You have to pat the product on.. No rubbing
- Use a small amount at a time and work in sections
Who Will Like This?
- Anyone who has large pores or lines/wrinkles they want to hide
- Anyone who is looking for a flawless foundation finish
- Anyone who wants to prevent their foundation from creasing around their mouth (laugh lines)
Who Won't Like This?
- Anyone who doesn't have visible pores
- Anyone who doesn't like anything that feels a bit heavy on the skin
- Anyone who is looking for something to actually minimize their pores permanently.. The Clarins Instant Smooth is a primer not a skincare product
How Does it Compare to Benefit's POREfesionnal?
- I find that the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch more long lasting and is more effective in terms of reducing pore size
My Final Thoughts: I love how my foundation looks when I apply the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch.. It blurs out my pores and makes them look almost invisible.. I only use this on special occasions as it can feel a bit heavy if worn everyday..
Would I Re-Purchase? Yes.
Have you tried the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch?
What primer do you use to hide your pores?

I've heard Clarins is really great, I may have to look into this, great review :) x
thanks for the review. i really need this. i have a problem with both pores and smile lines
This primer is great with matte foundations!
I use a primer from Clinique to hide pores. I think it ia called "Pore minimizer" and it has both a here-and-now-effect and a lasting effect :)
Oooh I am always looking for stuff to make my pores look smaller. I love Clarins so I will have to check this out!
I have it and I LOVE it!
I use it sparingly also, since it's kinda expensive.
I use this in my kit and think its fantastic x
@Lauren Rose - You have amazing skin so you might not find it that amazing =P
@MSodapop - Yah so did I until I discovered this =P
@Jamilla Camel - I use it with my Guerlain De Peau foundation which is not matte at all and it works great!
@Sos - Yah I've tried that one ages ago.. But I'm not a huge fan of clinique so decided to try Clarins instead =P
@Vida - You'll love this.. It works beautifully!
@i.r. - Yah thankfully you ONLY need a little bit =P
@Simone G - It's awesome.. I don't see many makeup artists usin it.. It's nice that you do..
I've sampled this once and I absolutely loved it! :)
I really want to try this, now! Anything to shrink my huge cheek pores - even if it's temporary.
@Rainy Days and Lattes - It gives a beautiful finish to the skin doesn't it?!
@Eden-Avalon - I feel ya girl!
I love this primer too. I also tried the Instant smooth cream foundation, which is also very good. It's a bit problematic with the colours, but it usually is for me.
If it´s really effective in hiding skin pores, then I´m in need of it. Thanks for this review.
I love products like this! In the winter I tend to use a primer like this because it makes everything so smooooth. I actually have two loves in this area: a drugstore product (loreal studio secrets magic perfecting primer) which does an excellent job of "hiding" pores before you put makeup on. Mally's Poreless Face Defender does the same thing, only I use it after makeup :) As a bonus Mally's version gets rid of the oilies without powder :)
Thanks for another great in-depth review!
would love to try this! sounds like a good primer. :D
i use nars new primer which doesn't really do anything for my pores and smashbox's photo finish. :D
Ooh! I want to try this now after reading your review!! :]
@angel - Oh I wonder how the foundation will be.. It sounds lovely... But yah they're colours tend to be a little too pink
@creativefashionglee - I find that it is! Give it a try ;)
@Danielle - Yaah I remember reading your Mally review and it reminded me of this one..
@sugar sugar - This is great for the pores.. Not sure how wonderful it is in oil control as I only use it where I have pores.. But if feels sooo smoooth
