Delyteful Speaks Again...

I am so terribly sorry for the long silence on this blog.. I sorta kinda got engaged and now I'm getting married in 3 days!!!!! So you can imagine how hectic it's been for me.. This is the last post as a single woman.. When I come back (in February), Ima be a married woman! Haha It's crazy really how things work out sometimes..

So on to beauty!

I've been thinking so much about what I'll be taking with me on my honeymoon.. I want products that are easy to apply and of course ones that are long lasting.. And here are some of the products I've found while going through my beauty stash...

Coverage: Light to Medium
Finish: Between a satin and dewy finish on me as I make sure I apply a rich moisturizer beforehand.. But I think it leans more towards a Matte finish
Application: Finger tips
Cons: The shade tend to have a slight pink undertone

The reason I'm taking this foundation out of all the foundations I have, is because this is super easy to apply and blends in so well.. It also gives my skin such a beautiful natural glow which is always what I'm seeking.. Not to mention, it's a skincare type of foundation.. Works well for those with sensitive skin!

Application: Fingers.. Blends like a dream
Longevity: Not too bad.. But I love that it doesn't crease..
Cons: If you have oily eye lids, you'll have to use a good eye primer with it

I've braged about this product here.. Love how easy it is to apply and how beautifully it transforms my eyes.. Also, this can be worn as bronzy highlighter!

Application: MAC 188 Stippling Brush
Cons: Dries really fast and once it does, it's really hard to blend out

This thing seriously does not budge which is what I love about it the most! You can read more about it in my blush post here.. The only issue I have with this is that you have to work super fast with is coz it dries quickly but I just adore this shade!

Finish: Satin.. Moisturizing yet not too glossy
Cons: Not very long wearing

This is pretty much the only baby pink lipstick that works well on my skin tone.. It's what I thought MAC Creme Cup would be.. Beautiful baby pink with tiny gold flecks that give the lips a nice subtle sheen..

And these are just a few of the products that will be coming along with me to my honeymoon.. Again I apologize for the very very very late post and I wish you all an amazing new year with new opportunities...

Be the best you can be!

Peace
xoxo

Blushing Lippies

Because I have too many lipsticks, a large number of them sit in my drawer untouched for months! So one day as I was going through my lipstick collection, I found some amazing shades.. For my cheeks..

I've been really enjoying wearing lipstick as a blush..

And here's why:

- It's Long-wearing
- Pigment is amazing
- Multi-purpose

Application:

I like using my MAC 188 Duo-Fibre Brush to apply them.. I just brush it on the lipstick a few time to pick up the colour then blend it on my cheeks.. I found that using my fingers makes it a little blotchy and not blended as well..
Image taken from Google

Here are swatches of some of the lipsticks I've been using as blush and how they look when blended out.. Oh I do prefer working with matte lipsticks for my cheeks:

MAC Candy Yum Yum (Limited Edition)

Now this is a scary colour that I'm not brave enough to wear often.. I'd wear this to pool parties and that's about it.. But this shade makes an amazing blush because of its cool tones.. Gives a beautiful girly glow!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Lipstick - 01 Stay Rose

I like to dab this colour on my lips for that rosy/berry stain.. And that kinda shade is amazing for blush!

Inglot Lipstick in 231

I really like this coral shade.. Looks especially amazing on my lips when I'm tanned.. But for my cheeks, I can wear it whenever! It's not completely matte like the others, but it has a beautiful luminous finish..

Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense - Mat 4

This is completely matte! I love the shade.. Very natural.. It's a dusty rose.. Very waterproof too!

Illamasqua Welt

A beautiful pinkie magenta that gives the nicest "I've-been-out-in-the-cold" cheeks

I won't go through my whole lipstick collection, but you get the idea.. I've been really enjoying this technique.. Especially now in the summer.. And for those who want to use up their rarely touched lipsticks, this is the way to go ;)

Have you tried wearing your lipstick as a blush?

2- De.Like.Ful

So here's my second De.Like.Ful from my De.Like.Ful series..

Oats - I use organic oats to cleanse my face in the morning and it makes my skin feel so hydrated and smooth (Review

TheFaceShop White Tree Snow Exfoliating Cleanser - I like using a gentle exfoliating cleanser at night.. And this does just that.. It gently exfoliates and what I love about it the most is the fact that it actually removes most of my makeup.. (Review)

Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist - This has been a skin savior for me during this heat.. It's so refreshing and hydrating at the same time.. I love misting this before my moisturizer and after my makeup.. Keeps me lookin fresh!

Sonicare Toothbrush - I hate things that vibrate.. I just don't like the feeling of it, let alone having something that shakes my jaw.. So for the longest time, I rejected the idea of an electronic toothbrush.. But a while ago I thought I'd do some more research on them and see whether they're worth it.. And after a lot of reading and watching videos, I decided to go ahead and get an electronic toothbrush.. From the first try, although the vibration annoyed me a little bit, I was amazed at how clean it left my mouth! You get used to the vibration.. I don't think it's that bad anymore.. I've been using this for almost 3 months now and I don't think I can ever go back to the traditional toothbrush!

Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation - I've had this for a while now but because of the huge foundation collection I have and the crazy ups and downs my skin goes through, I haven't been reaching out for this much.. This summer however, I've been really enjoying this heaps.. Love the satin finish it gives.. It provides medium coverage and has a really good staying power.. I love applying this with my MAC 187 as I feel it really helps give it that extra flawless finish..

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation - This is another foundation I've had for a while.. I really enjoy the flawless finish this provides me.. The shade is great for my skin tone.. And it stays put through humidity and heat which makes it amazing for our UAE summer weather! Only issue with this is that it photographs horribly.. Makes you look like a ghost in photos..

Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer - I trust Estee Lauder's Double Wear Line in terms of delivering a long-lasting product.. And this does wear well and surprisingly enough, it's not cakey.. I use this under my eyes and on my acne scars and it ain't bad.. It is medium coverage which is why it's not AMAZING for me.. Still on the hunt for that GREAT full coverage concealer.. But this has been my friend ever since I bought it 1 mont and half a go..

Giorgio Armani Master Corrector #2 - I had this a long time ago and used it up.. Then a few months ago decided to re-purchase it as nothing has been workin it's magic on my recent dark circles without creasing.. It's very light-weight but covers my dark circles nicely.. I still apply my Estee Lauder concealer on top of it just to ensure its longevity..

MAC 187 Duo-Fibre Brush - As mentioned above, I've been really loving this brush with my Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation.. I pump a little bit on the back of my hands and pick it up with the brush then work in sections.. Stippling then blending.. Really love this brush and it's so versatile!

Beauty Blender - Now I know many has sung songs about this egg-shaped sponge.. I won't go into too much detail on it as I recently wrote a post on it (Review). But I've been loving this with the heavier foundations like Estee Lauder Double Wear/Double Wear Light & Vichy Dermablend.. Gives a beautiful seamless finish.. Doesn't let foundation cling to any dryness or sink into my pores.. A really great tool to have!

Makeup Forever HD Powder - Now this I have a love/hate relationship with.. Actually it's more of a love/scare relationship.. It mattifies my face nicely without making it look too flat and it blurs my pores well.. However, the fact that it shows in flash photography scares me.. But I do use it when I don't want to add more coverage to my face and it helps keep my makeup on all day (Review)

Sigma F80 Brush - This is the only Sigma brush I have and I'm amazed at how soft it is.. It's a great brush for foundation and powder.. Lately, I've been loving it with powder instead of my powder puff.. And it brings out the great qualities in a powder (longevity & coverage when needed)

Bobbi Brown Taupe Eye Shadow - I wear this almost everyday when I'm rocking a natural look (which is most of the time).. I just apply a little bit on the crease and along my lower lash line and I'm good to go.. It gives my eyes a flattering depth and definition.. Looks boring in the pan but for me, it works wonders on my eyes (Review)

Makeup Forever Aqua Cream #13 - Great cream eye shadow for those who are looking for something that does NOT budge.. Also, it makes any eye shadow really pop! You do need to work quickly with this though as it sets in seconds (Review)

MAC Mulch Eye Shadow - This is my favourite MAC eye shadow.. I've had it for years and I really love it.. Such a flattering bronzy reddish brown.. Very easy shade to wear on it's on or as a crease colour.. Been loving this in combination with the MUFE Aqua cream #13..

Estee Lauder Double Wear Eye liner in 02 Coffee - I love brown eye liners for an everyday soft look.. And this is a great brown.. It's very creamy and glides on very smoothly.. I won't say that it stays on ALL day long in the weather I'm in, but it's been one of the best eye liners I've tried in a long time as it does not smudge or melt off like other eye liners..

Dr. Haushka Lip Care Stick - I throw this in my bag for when I need a simple plain lip balm.. It's great at hydrating my lips.. Only issue I have with it is that it's too glossy for my taste.. But does my dry lips some good for sure..

Clarins Lip Perfector in 02 Rose Shimmer - When I think of this product I think of the amazing smell it comes with.. Other than that, it's very hydrating and for a lip balm, it has a good staying power (Review)

Korres Lip Butter Stick SPF 15 in Rose - This is an almost matte lip balm.. Gives a beautifully berry bitten lips.. Not as hydrating as I would like, but not bad either.. I mainly use it for the lovely shade it gives (Review)

Yankee Candles - I've been on the hunt for candles that smell great without that waxy kinda smell.. And as lovely as Bath & Body Works candles are, they kinda smell waxy which makes me sick.. So I was so glad when I decided to give Yankee Candles a go because they make my room smell great without the candley scent.. Will have to get me the larger jars for sure..

Carolina Herrara 212 VIP, Givency eau demoiselle, Juicy Coutour Viva La Juicy - I'm such a perfume person.. I'm always wearing perfume.. When I go out.. When I come home.. When I go to bed.. I just love smelling good for me.. And these perfumes are all re-purchases.. I love them for different occasions.. I can't describe scents well but I will try.. 212 is the kinda scent I'd wear in the afternoons and evenings.. It's not too strong but not too soft either.. Not sweet nor fruity or flowery.. Eau Demoiselle is such a grown up feminine scent.. I wear this on nights out and gatherings.. Viva La Juicy is my signature scent.. I wear this with everything and anytime.. It's has a powdery scent if you know what I mean.. I just have to always have this in my collection..

The Help - When I get a chance to read, I've been picking up this book thanks to Beauty Scribbler, who is an amazing beauty blogger by the way =) Love the way it's written and how it's been told from the help's perspective.. Can't wait to finish it and knowing what happens.. So much injustice and discrimination back in the day..

And finally, it's Ramadan in the Islamic world and for those of you who don't know what Ramadan is.. It's a Holy month in the Islamic calendar where we fast (no food, no water) from Sunrise to Sunset.. The whole concept is about compassion and doing good.. Because in this month, you are encouraged to help the needy more than you normally do, be connected with Allah (God), and just commit good deeds.. And what I love most about this month are:

Family Gatherings

The Spirituality in the atmosphere

The Night Life

And of course the FOOOOOD!

Peace

Possessions: Cream Eye Shadows

Since it's summer, cream products work so well as they're stay put better than powder eye shadows...

Here's my cream eye shadows collection...

So starting with the top row...

Makeup Forever Aqua Cream #13 - Lovely bright champaign shade with peach undertones but sets quickly so you gotta work fast with it.. I use this as an eye shadow but you can also use it as a highlighter..

Consistency: Light and smooth but can look patchy if you don't work fast with it

Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Enigma - I got this as a gift from my girl SJ and I really enjoy this product.. It makes a great eye shadow base.. However, I mostly use this for my under eye area and it eliminates my dark circles wonderfully.. Paler skin tones can also use this as a blush..

Consistency: Buttery smooth and blends so beautifully

MAC Constructivist Paint Pot - This is my first and only paint pot from MAC and I love this shade.. It looks dark but with a light hand, you can totally make this sheer.. It has tiny gold shimmers that aren't extremely obvious on the lids.. I wear this alone on the lids and on the lower lash line and it gives me such a lovely bronzey eye look..

Consistency: Not super smooth.. Has sort of like a dry smoothness texture if that makes sense.. Which why it can look a little patchy if you don't work fast with it..

Benefit Creaseless Cream/Liner Shadow in Flatter Me - I never wear pinks on my eye lids but love this shade! It’s so flattering and when sheered out it just gives a beautiful hint of colour to your lids.. Great for everyday..

Consistency: Smooth and easy to apply but can look blotchy

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Eye Shadow in #6 Nola - This is the weirdest eye shadow formula I have come across.. It’s like a pressed pigment.. You do get a little fall out but nothing too crazy.. The shade is so unique.. It’s a bronzed khaki and I have never seen anything like it.. Looks amazing when worn sheerly as it gives that beautiful shimmery wet look to your eyes..
Consistency: Buttery smooth and blends like a dream!

Benefit Creaseless Cream/Liner Shadow in Birthday Suit - I thought that is would be so similar to the MUFE #13 Aqua cream but that one a bright champaign and this is more muted.. Gives your lids a hint of colour.. Makes a great eye shadow base..
Consistency: Again, lovely but high risk of patchiness

Julie Hewitt Shimmy in Cleo - I did write a review on this here.. It’s a nice very sheer bronze that is super easy to wear..
Consistency - Almost like a shimmery hard gel that melts on your skin and blends nicely..

NARS Cream Shadow in Mykonos - This is a muted plum.. I was kinda disappointed in this.. The shade is nice but is not long lasting on me at all when worn alone so I tend to wear Benefit’s Flatter Me first then this on top when I wanna rock a plummy eye look..
Consistency - Slippery and blends well

Bobbie Brown in Black Pearl - This is the most glittery of them all.. And I’m talking chunks of glitter.. Great for the night time..  It is a great sheer shade.. And is the most long lasting out of all of them.. But the glitter in it is very dominating..
Consistency - You gotta really work your brush in pot to get the product out and it does not blend easily because of the amount of glitter in it

And Voila!

What are some of your favourite Cream Eye Shadows?

Blush Collection 2: MAC, Cargo, MUFE, Sleek, Benefit & NYX

Ok so here's part 2 of my blush collection... (click here for part 1)

Dainty - I don't love this.. It's nice but I don't love it.. It's a pinky peach.. More on the pink side with very fine gold shimmers that don't show up that much on the cheeks.. It does give you a nice fresh look.. The perfect spring blush but not my favourite at all..

Cubic - I have a problem with this blush.. It's such a pretty shade.. Very natural.. But this particular one I got is just so hard to even swatch.. The top layer is all weird and hard and doesn't give colour.. So when I use this, I have to scrap of the top layer and then run my brush on it.. Too much work.. But it's lovely blush that looks boring in the pan but is a nice dusty pink on the cheeks..

Margin - This is one of those underrated MAC blushes.. It's a peachy gold that instantly gives your complexion such a lovely summery glow.. Only issue I have with this blush is that it's a little too shimmery for my taste so I tend to use it as a highlight instead..

Warm Soul - I haven't had this for that long but it definitely jumped into my top 5 blushes.. It's a gorgeous peachy pink with fine gold shimmers that are not too shimmery at all when applied.. Love this blush.. Read my full review on it here

Pinch Me - This also is a super gorgeous blush! Looks too dark in the pan but with a light hand, it gives you that deep peach look that is just stunning! It's a matte finish which I love.. It adds this beautiful peachy warmth.. Perfect for medium to dark skin tones..

Bite of An Apple - A beautiful limited addition coral.. Before this came out, I was dying to get my hands on it.. It's just such a beautiful coral.. And when I got it.. I fell in love with it.. Except for the fact that I find it does not blend very well for some reason.. But still a shade worth having in my collection..

Her Blooming Cheek - Another limited edition blush.. But this one I wasn't planning to get at all.. It was just sort of an impulse buy.. And boooy am I glad I got it.. It's the perfect winter blush as it gives you that natural flush like you've been out in the cold.. Looks scary in the pan.. Very bright pink magenta shade.. But with a light hand, it's just lovely!

LadyBlush - This is in the old formula.. I don't usually wear this on it's on as I find it too be a little too pastel looking for me (I like my bright blushes =P).. But it makes a beautiful base for my pink blushes.. And adds that dewy look..

Virgin Isle - Ahhh now this is one I absolutely adore! Looks like a bright orangey coral but when blended on the skin, it is just superb! I love this cream colour base so much.. See how I like to wear it here

Echo Beach - Cargo blushes are up there for me with the Illamasqua blushes.. They're so pigmented and soft.. Very easy to apply and blend.. Echo Beach is a rosy bronze.. It is a gorgeous summer blush! Gives you that tanned look without the burn.. The shimmer in it is also not too much when applied.. A keeper for sure..

Tonga - This is such a creamy non-cream blush if you know what I mean.. It's just so smooth.. Very natural.. A perfect everyday blush..

Blu-Ray Pink Blush/Highlighter - I don't use this as much.. It's made for photographs and it does photograph nicely.. It's a very light pink and when applied, you don't noticed the highlight part of it as much as you do in photographs.. You don't need a highlighter with this as works as both a blush and a highlighter.. The colour a little too light for me but would be perfect for fair skin tones..

MUFE Aqua Cream #9 - I love this shade.. It's a bright peach that can be used as a blush, lipstick and eye shadow.. The thing with the aqua creams is that you gotta work super fast with them as they dry so quickly.. And because they're waterproof (like literally waterproof) once they're dry, they don't budge.. So they are a bit tricky but really great for those living in humid conditions where your makeup just slides off your face.. This does have little shimmers that also don't show very much when applied.. I love how this shade brightens up my complexion

MUFE HD Blush in #6 - This is a pink coral blush that also needs to be blended in quickly.. This stays on pretty well but not as long as the aqua cream..

Sleek Blush in Scandalous - You can easily look like a clown with this blush.. But if applied properly with a light hand, this gives you that beautiful sunburnt look.. This is an excellent dupe to NARS Exhibit A blush.. A good one to have for the summer time..

Dandeloin - Many use this as a face powder as it's very sheer with very fine gold shimmer that gives a glow to your complexion... I however use this as a blush if I do use it.. I find it to be a little too light for my taste but paired with a cream blush underneath, it does work very nicely in giving you that fresh faced look..But definitely not a must-have..

Benetint - This is one of the first blushes I owned.. It's gives a very long-lasting stain on the cheek.. But this can look so blotchy if you don't move fast with it..

NYX Peach Powder Blush - I don't really see the peach in this but I use this on the apples of my cheeks on top of my bronzer to add that lovely hint of pink when I'm rockin' a bronzy look..

NYX Glow Cream Blush - This to me seems very similar to MAC's Posey in the old formulation.. Very easy to blend.. Instantly adds a glow to the face.. And is a dewy finish..

Phew that was a lot! Glad I'm finally done with this..
Next will be foundations.. Stay tuned ;)

Peace

Review: Makeup Forever HD Powder

There was sooo much hype about this product that just turned me off this product big time.. I felt that it got to the point where people were just exaggerating.. But I have been looking for a powder to help keep my shine at bay and give me that velvety look.. And when I was at sephora one day, I thought I'll just try it out and see what the fuss is all about...

And then.. I find myself walkin to the counter carrying this product in my hand...

No I couldn't just walk away from this product.. The effect it had on my skin was one that no powder has done before.. It blurred my pores.. Mattified my complexion without makin it look dry or flat.. And it added no colour to my skin which is what I was lookin for..

Now I bought this before watching Wayne's video from gossmakeupartist on it which left me kicking myself for buying this product for a while as it really freaked me out.. He talked about how this powder was the reason for this happening to Nicole....

Horrible right? It looks invisible to our naked eyes.. But in flash photography this is what this powder looks like if not used sparingly..

I was turned off.. And I put that powder aside and started using others that I had lying around.. But some were too drying.. Wrong colour.. Cakey.. etc..

So one day I thought, lemme give this ago one more time.. And I fell for it all over again.. And now I shall not put this aside and I shall not be photographed while wearing this.. But I shall not repurchase either.. Yes it's a good powder, but I do want a powder that works the same AND looks good in photographs..

But for now, Ima keep using this...

Have you guys tried this powder? What are your thoughts on it?

Cream Blushes

So let's talk about my favourite topic.. BLUSH!

I thought I'd start with cream blushes as my cream blush collection isn't as big as the powder blush collection..

So let us begin....

I keep forgetting that I have this blush.. It's a gorgeous peach.. Applies sheerly but is definitely buildable.. Gives such a nice flush to the face.. It has tiny tiny gold shimmer that is very subtle when applied to the cheeks.. It is not dewy but not completely matte either..

Swatch:

When I apply this on its on, it doesn't stay on for long on my cheeks.. But if you apply a nice light peach (e.g. NYX Peach or Illamasqua Lover) or any pink powder blush on op, it makes your powder blush pop! So I'd use this as a base for my powder blush.

This is such a lovely barbie pink colour.. It's not as sheer as the Shiseido one but is not scary to work with either.. It gives your cheeks that dewy look without the sticky feeling.. The formula is so easy to blend and it lasts a fairly long on your cheeks..

Swatch:

There are so many other shades that are really beautiful.. I would recommend this for those who want to start with cream blushes..

When I used this the 1st time.. I was in love.. The formula is so light and blends easily.. It gives your cheeks a nice rosey coraly matte flush which I like as it looks very natural.. This did not stay put as long as I expected it to but it did pretty well..

Swatch:

I highly reccomend this product for those who like a matte flushed cheek.. I'm thinking of grabbing a few more of these.. The colour range available is stunning!

I had such high hopes for this cream blush but it was such a disappointment.. NARS powder blushes are so amazingly pigmented and long-lasting.. This was the total opposite.. The formula is extremely light that you need to pack the product on to get the colour to show on your skin (well on my skin tone at least - NC25-30)

Swatch:

The colour is really pretty and it gives a lovely glow to the cheeks.. So I guess I'll be using this as a base for better pigmented powder blushes..

Another disappointment from NARS.. I've heard such great things about NARS Multiples and I have been wanting NARS Orgasm Blush for the longest time.. So when I saw this, I thought PERFECTION! Just what I'm looking for.. My excitement however soon disappeared when I applied this on my cheeks.. The colour barely showed up on my skin and I had to rub such a huge amount of product to get the colour pay off.. The formula is exactly like the NARS cream blush.. It feels oily a lil so I did not expect it to stay on for long..

Swatch:

So since these don't work so well on my cheeks.. I only use them as eye shadows.. And the colours are really amazing for eye shadows.. But then again.. They don't stay on for that long unless you have a good primer underneath.. NARS should really look into changing the formula of their cream blushes..

I don't even think that this product needs an explanation.. I'm sure most of you have this or have read reviews about it.. I was a little hesitant before purchasing this cream blush.. I thought it might be sticky and just too dewy.. But oh was I wrong.. This is such a beautiful cream blush.. It beats MAC's powder blushes hands down.. Gives such a glow and the colour is one that suits all.. It also makes a great blush base for any powder blushes.. I'm so disappointed that MAC has discontinued these.. Luckily I got mine before it's too late =P

I used this a long time ago when I was a teenager and when I came across it again one time, I just had to repurchase.. This is the only VERY long lasting blush I came across.. It gives your cheeks such a beautiful rosey tint.. Applies lightly at first.. But is surely buildable.. The only reason I don't wear this as much as I would like to is coz of the streakiness that may come with this product if not applied VERY carefully.. This stains your cheeks within seconds of application so you have to work VERY fast with it.. Also, I really don't like the nail polish brush type of application.. Wish it came in different packaging AND in various shades too.. But still a really great blush for those who do not like to reapply.. oh and it smells like rose water..

Last but definitely not least....

Now these were such a surprise.. But in a very good way.. They're sooo creamy and melt into your skin like a dream.. Glow is beautiful pink with no shimmer.. I thought it would be similar to MAC Ladyblush but it's brighter.. It's actually the reason why I did not purchase MAC's Posey Cream Blush as I thought it was very similar to it..

Golden on the other hand is a peachy beige with gold shimmers.. Makes an amazing highlighter and a perfect base for bronzers.. I love this colour.. When worn by itself it gives your cheeks the loveliest healthy glow.. If you're looking to get NYX cream blushes, you must try Golden.. Especially now that summer is comin up..

Swatch:

The formula of these cream blushes is the best I've come across.. They're so much better than MAC's Blush Cremes and a lot more pigmented too.. So you need only a tiny bit to get a really good colour pay off.. These give your cheeks a nice dewiness without the stickiness.. NYX Cream Blushes honestly surprised me..

And that is the end of my Cream Blush review... I really wanna try Illamasqua's cream blushes so I'll get my hands on those as soon as I can..

Do you wear cream blushes? If so, what are your favourites?
